Vätternrundan Adventure

VR50 whiteIn a few days (Thursday 11th June) Cookie and Digger will head out to Motala in Sweden to take part in the 50th running of the world famous Vätternrundan.

What is that you may ask?

mapVätternrundan (pronounced vet-turn-rund-an) is a 300km (185 mile) cycle race, which takes place annually following the shoreline of the beautiful Lake Vättern in Sweden. Setting out on the evening of 12th June, the rules are simple – ride the complete distance around the lake in the best time you are able!

We are riding as part of a team representing the excellent charity Cyclists Fighting Cancer (CFC). For those who have not heard of CFC
, they enable children and young people living with cancer across the UK to regain their physical fitness, strength and confidence by giving them new bikes, adapted trikes, tandems, other equipment and support. An excellent cause I am sure you will agree.

T shirt imagesWe all get lots of requests for sponsorship in these days of online giving sites and social media, all for very worthwhile causes. However CFC is a small charity looking to make young people’s lives better, when they need a boost. I hope you can take a few moments to consider this and visit our site 300 in 1 Day
Look out for an update when we hope to provide a live link to the Vätternrundan website showing the course and our individual progress real time via our tracking chips.

Thanks for reading and your support.
