  • I have only ever walked it. It is a lovely climb with no cars! Be great for hill repeats as its a dead end at the top!

  • Cheltenham will host the finish of the penultimate stage of the OVO Energy Tour of Britain this September, as the world’s top professional cyclists race through the Cotswolds to arrive in the historic spa town on Saturday 9 September.
Stage Seven of Britain’s premier road cycling event will start in Hemel Hempstead, crossing Buckinghamshire and…[Read more]

    • This is great news; perhaps we could organise a ride out east and then follow the route to Cheltenham after the race passes through. Or even better head to Cheltenham and drinks beers whilst watching the finish!

The following day stage 8 starts in Worcester and heads through Pershore and then out to the Malverns, perhaps if the timing works we…[Read more]

  • I have just acquired two small (will fit nicely into a cycle jersey back pocket) walkie talkies and would like to give them to the club to maybe use for the leader and sweeper. They come with a headset and ear piece (not quite Team Sky standard) that works on neck vibrations and I think maybe they can be voice activated as well ( might need a…[Read more]

    • If nothing else they will provide a bit of fun! There is no harm in giving them a go, so long as they do not cause any hearing or safety issues for those using them.

  • All signed up! Cant wait

  • Hence just going down the parents and children route as I’m sure parents wont need a CRB/DBS certificate to take their own children out cycling. I was just going to use the WWCC website to make everyone aware that I was going for a ride with the kids, and anyone wishing to join in could come along too. Its probably going to be after lunch on Sat…[Read more]

    • Johnny – I think your suggestion is the best initial starting point as discussed at the AGM and we can then spend some time looking at the more complex options – M

  • Hi All,

Post AGM I have been looking into a way ahead with regards to promoting U16’s within the WWCC and I must say it involves a great deal of red tape! One thing I did think was instead of going down this route, which would involve courses, certificates and a great deal of commitment, would to just organise a Dads/Mums ride with their children…[Read more]

    • I looked in to this for a dive club – it is so much easier if minors (which in some cases can be classed as anyone under 18) are accompanied by adults. A parent child ride would be a good way to explore if there is sufficient interest to make it worth exploring further.
One challenge with CRBs (or whatever they are now called) is that they are…[Read more]

  • Hi All,
Many thanks to those that signed the petition against more building in Woodmancote on Two Hedges Rd. See the link further down the chat threads for info. For those of you that feel passionate about it could you please pass it on and spread the word to your friends etc via Facebook, email or any sort of media. The petition is doing well…[Read more]

  • This is nothing to do with cycling however I would like to bring to your attention a proposal by Cavendish Homes to build up to 152 new homes on the Green Belt land to the south of Two Hedges Road, Woodmancote. If you feel that enough building is already happening in Cleeve and Woodmancote then please take 5 mins to register with Tewkesbury…[Read more]

  • Me too. I presume the team was supposed to be Woodmancote Wheelers?
